Estimate Values For Home Repairs 12/2015

There are a variety of methods for completing any one repair. Each method having its own cost, time to complete and life expectancy. It is recommended to get three estimates for any planned repairs from specialists for that system. If possible, consult friends for contractor recommendations. It is important to understand what an estimate includes before having any work started. In some instances permits may be needed.

The following list contains information to aid in developing cost estimates for repairs in various systems of a house. For a qualified do-it-yourselfer, you’re the labor. Otherwise you need to call a contractor for labor costs and the expertise to install the components. This list is not intended to be all inclusive. Additional costs can include unexpected damage revealed after the start of any repair, removal and disposal of debris/appliances, upgrades in electrical or plumbing needed to accommodate appliance replacement just to name a few. The prices listed here are for basic grade components and were obtained by checking out several home improvement stores, newspaper flyers and websites.
